Today I Wrote a Blog

Today I wrote a blog.

When I began writing Today I blogs two years ago, my goal was to practice being present in the moment. This was a phrase I had heard my whole life and it never made sense to me. After all, how can I be anything but present in the moment I’m currently in? I’m literally right here!

It just didn’t make any sense. Even if my mind was wandering away from the present, it was going places that were connected to the present. I would be reminded of something I needed to do, something that had previously happened, or making some other connection in the endless web of sights and stories woven throughout my mind.

Drawing connections like this is how I make sense of the world.

And as I’ve written these blogs and practiced being present in the moment by reflecting on something that happened that day, I’ve grown so much in understanding God’s presence with me. I’ve seen God in more places in my life than just reading Scripture. I’ve abided in the love of Christ. And I hope my reflections have helped you do the same.

Now I’d like to expand this blog to include more than these Today I reflections. I’ve enjoyed writing some more creative pieces, even some longer ones, that I’d love to share! I’ll be sharing some faith articles as well, sharing my thoughts about different aspects of theology, church, and faith. I’ll have some guest writers offer words about their areas of passion that I love enough to share with you.

This won’t be a change every week, but you can expect a break from the regular Today I format every once in a while. It will be a fun surprise to see what’s in store when these come!

Today I wrote a blog. I also wrote a Missions blog. I’ll write more blogs.

And I hope you’ll read them.

Thanks for making this a part of your day!
Feel free to share it with others!
